We the students of classes VIII, IX and X of Dilsukhnagar Public School along with some of our high school staff went on an excursion to Nagarjuna Sagar. We started early in the morning at 6:15 a.m. and reached Nagarjuna Sagar at around 9:30 a.m. The journey of 3 hours looked very short as we were enjoying all through by singing and dancing. We also enjoyed our break fast in the bus by sharing the tasty items brought by all of us. We also took some pictures of our friends and teacher and also of the side views all through the way.
At Nagarjuna Sagar we had to board a launch which kept us waiting for one hour. When it arrived we saw that it was worth waiting as it was a huge and wonderful launch with three stairs and a total of 600 seats. Journey in the steamer became more pleasant with the cool breeze of Sagar water.
We reached Nagarjuna Konda at 12:30 p.m. Here we were helped with tourist guides who explained us about the purpose of constructing museum at Nagarjuna Konda and also the history of Goutama Buddha. Then we visited the museum where we saw the statues of Goutama Buddha and the scriptures written by him in his period. After seeing the museum we walked 2 ½ Km. to see visit the tombs of Goutama Buddha.
